Maravanthe Beach

This is the most amazingly beautiful beach I have seen so far.
It is just a few kms away from Murudeshwar in Karnataka on Mangalore - Udupi - Kundapur highway.

The beach is very clean & calm with shining white sand & crystal clear water. The shore is little sloppy and risky to swim. It is the only beach which is very close to highway on one side and backwaters with greenery of pine trees covering the other side of the road.

It is the most adoring place for nature lovers. Its scenic beauty lures every commuter to halt for some time atleast, although its not enough to enjoy the exquisiteness of the place. The sunrise & sunset are never to be missed. Nature lovers can enjoy every single moment during sunset with clear skies changing its colours every minute. Not crowded and no materialistic disturbance. Cool breez along the deep blue sea, its the best place for photographers to capture every changing aspect of nature from sunrise to sunset.

Its a must visit place for one and all.

Mainapi Waterfalls

This is another waterfall in the south of Goa, coming under the jurisdiction of Netravalim Wild Life Sanctuary. Mainapi waterfall is the most perennial waterfall
among all the waterfalls in Netravalim Wildlife Sanctuary and is approximately 14km away from Netravalim village. Trekking towards the base of the waterfall
is quite adventurous & requires lot of stamina. Do not forget to carry your trekking kit
including water, to keep you going. There is no doubt that you will enjoy your trek along
the lush green forest.

This waterfall is around 100-105 km away from Panjim city. The roads are wide and
smooth. Best way to get to this place is by your own vehicle or taxi.
Public transport is rare, mostly buses coming from Sanguem city
and having some fixed time table. You will require to take another bus from
Panjim to reach to Sanguem city. Travelling by public transport is not advisable
as time won't be sufficient to reach the Netravalim village & then trek down to the waterfall & return, unless you want to spend a weekend there.

Once you are there at the base of the waterfall, you will witness the most beautiful scene,
milky water gushing down & the see through water pool. One can enjoy swimming & can even take the falls on your shoulders as if you are taking heavy shower.
There is enough place where you can have your snacks or lunch.
But do not forget to keep the place clean, remember,

"Go Goa Green"...

Best time to visit the place is October to June as the last 1km trek becomes little slippery
and risky in monsoons.

The Hidden Treasure of Goa..."Kurdi"

Yes, you read it right, the hidden treasure of Goa, the village of "Kurdi" is litterally a hidden treasure, concealed with unique unlimited traditional facet. A rich destination for nature lovers and also for archaeologist.

This village is in the south of Goa, very close to Salaulim Dam, in Sanguem. As the title goes, the village is hidden or undercover almost throughout the year. One can explore the village only during summer or early monsoons. The overflooded dam water rushes into this village every year and leaves it secluded. Even after beign under water, most of the historical sculptures are still intact and can provide great opportunities for archaeologist to explore furthur.

The visitors can not deny the wonderfullness of the place with cool breeze along the river with mild waves leaving their marks on the soil. The sunset view is just mindblowing...The most romantic time of all time. A good place for nature photographers too....

Waterfalls & Trekking
Waterfalls in South Goa serves a great deal of zeal for nature lovers. When beach tourism slows down in monsoon, the goan tourism takes its alternate routes through
waterfalls, treks & adventures.
Explorers would love to visit such places full of lush green hills while on its
treks towards the waterfalls, enjoying nature sounds of birds, gushing water etc.

Yes!! you guessed it right, I am speaking about "Savari Waterfalls"  or "Netravali Waterfalls" in Netravali village in Sanguem taluka in Eastern Ghats. Its water source is Kali river basin of East Goa. This waterfall lies in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary and one has to undergo full checking of the vehicle at the checkpost.

Its around 3 hours journey from Panjim city. One can enjoy a relaxing drive through old
Goan villages after you cross Sanguem city. The roads are smooth and wide, nicely tarred
and one can enjoy their fearless drive through lush green forest listening
to natural music of bird's humming.

The village of Netravali is not so developed or urbanized, yet the locals
there are so friendly and welcoming to the tourist. While on your 3km trek to the actual
waterfall site, one can enjoy the folklore & praxis of village.
At one point on your trek you will be charged some entry fee per person by the officials.

The water gushes from a height of 200ft and the waterfall is around 8 km from
Netravali village. Vehicles can be driven to few kms near the site but at most 2-3 km trekking is unavoidable. Do not forget to carry water to keep you hydrated
through your trek and some snacks to give you energy boost.
After the trek, the scene is set, chilled water gushing down the falls with beautiful
greenery around and lovely boulders to supplement. One can even enjoy swimming
in nearly see through waters.

"This is all about Savari waterfalls. You can leave your comments once you visit this adventurous place, while I come back with few more waterfalls in south itself in my next posts"...

One add on is, "The Botanical Garden at Salaulim".
Its in the south of Goa. Its greenary is very soothing to the eyes.
