This is another waterfall in the south of Goa, coming under the jurisdiction of Netravalim Wild Life Sanctuary. Mainapi waterfall is the most perennial waterfall
among all the waterfalls in Netravalim Wildlife Sanctuary and is approximately 14km away from Netravalim village. Trekking towards the base of the waterfall
is quite adventurous & requires lot of stamina. Do not forget to carry your trekking kitamong all the waterfalls in Netravalim Wildlife Sanctuary and is approximately 14km away from Netravalim village. Trekking towards the base of the waterfall
including water, to keep you going. There is no doubt that you will enjoy your trek along
the lush green forest.
This waterfall is around 100-105 km away from Panjim city. The roads are wide and
smooth. Best way to get to this place is by your own vehicle or taxi.
Public transport is rare, mostly buses coming from Sanguem city
and having some fixed time table. You will require to take another bus from
Panjim to reach to Sanguem city. Travelling by public transport is not advisable
as time won't be sufficient to reach the Netravalim village & then trek down to the waterfall & return, unless you want to spend a weekend there.
Once you are there at the base of the waterfall, you will witness the most beautiful scene,
milky water gushing down & the see through water pool. One can enjoy swimming & can even take the falls on your shoulders as if you are taking heavy shower.
There is enough place where you can have your snacks or lunch.
But do not forget to keep the place clean, remember,
"Go Goa Green"...
Best time to visit the place is October to June as the last 1km trek becomes little slippery
and risky in monsoons.
